Trailblazing attorney honored for excellence in commercial litigation
As she continues through a landmark year in her storied legal career, trial lawyer Mary-Olga “Mo” Lovett has added another to a long list of awards with her selection to the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Ms. Lovett was honored for expertise in commercial litigation by Best Lawyers, which uses nominations, peer recommendations and staff vetting to determine the nation’s top legal talent.
She launched her own firm, Mo Lovett Law, in January after more than three decades in Big Law with King & Spalding and at Greenberg Traurig, where she was a senior vice president and the firm’s highest-ranking woman.
Recognition by Best Lawyers is one of several recent commendations Ms. Lovett has received. In July, she was named a 2025 recipient of the Texas Legal Awards’ prestigious Lifetime Achievement honor, which recognizes trailblazing attorneys who have “left a lasting imprint on the Texas legal community.”
She was also selected to receive a lifetime achievement honor at the ALM/Law.com Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards in October. The award recognizes women who have made a profound and lasting impact on the legal profession.
Earlier this year, Ms. Lovett earned recognition from the prestigious Chambers USA and was included in Lawdragon’s inaugural 500 Global IP Lawyers guide.
“The honors never get old,” Ms. Lovett said. “But they must be earned each year. The most dangerous temptation in any walk of life is to coast on one’s reputation. I prefer to forge new paths and continue to grow in my work.”
Ms. Lovett’s caseload includes patent infringement, trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, commercial disputes, class actions, employment litigation, and product liability matters in state and federal courts across the United States. She also handles litigation consulting and mediation and arbitration.
